Ok, that’s a shit title but this is not shit.

This little number is by Unique at Topshop. There’s a dress on there as well, and I saw Rhianna wearing half of something in this print on the Alan Carr show. I like the jumper. A lot.
Found via fur coat, no knickers
Everyone in the blogosphere has blogged on their blog about the wonder that is Jenny Gordy. Her blog is lovely, her necklaces are amazing, and one day I will buy something she knits. One day.
So, I’m going to try and stay up until 1am on Monday eve in the hope that I can get my hands on one of her wool necklaces. Oh please, let me keep my eyes open long enough.
Yep, this is good. Very good, and Spanish. I like Spain. A lot. I like squid, beer, cold sherry and Julio Iglesias (ok, that’s a lie). The only thing I hate about this whole situation is the euro. Fuck the euro. Fuck the exchange rate.
Weirdly, I really love the Eley Kishimoto take on Converse. This is only weird because I have an irrational hatred and distrust of Converse. I love pretty much all of the Flash range. EK always gives good knitwear and reminds me of Sonia Rykiel. Speaking of Sonia, how amazing is the new bee jumper? I’m hoping I can get myself some stripes at Sonia Rykiel for H&M when it drops on February 20th, but I’m not holding my breath.
What happened? I was in love with kicks. Like, long time love. A love that no person, or thing could drive a wedge between, and then we sort of lost our way, and I became a proper lady shoe wearer. I’m thinking it’s time to bring out the Stabs, Blazers, Dunks and Jordans. My love will always be a Nike love. That’s just how we roll. Adidas just don’t do it. Asics sort of make me sick inside, but there is always a little bit of room in my heart for suede Pumas with big FAT laces, but just not now. Now it’s all about the solids – Uptowns, Dunk Mids and a pair of Stabs. eBay is calling my name, it wants me to get some rainbow Stabs, and who am I to say no.
Here’s a selection of my favourite old friends. We need to spend some time together reminiscing.
Every Little Counts came to my attention a while ago via their Etsy shop but they somehow seemed to disappear off my radar. I am a dumbo. Now they’re back with a bang and the new collection rules a lot – anything with a literary nod works for me, and how can you resist Henry (Miller) and Anaïs (Nin). I can't.
‘I never feel the brakes. I overflow. And when I feel your excitement about life flaring, next to mine, then it makes me dizzy.’
From A Literate Passion : Letters of Anais Nin and Henry Miller,1932-1953.
French Connection has got a new look on it’s website and I think I like it. I just wish I liked the sale prices more.

FC has been doing well since it ditched the FCUK (AKA I’m a spide/chav fashion-sense-less white sock wearer with an aptitude for drinking WKD and Bacardi Breezers) branding. 75% of the dresses are close to amazing (short, but amazing), with simple detailing and lovely shapes. My favourite miss on the sale was the Elk dress which is essentially the Ann done in houndstooth and what’s not to like about dogs and teeth. I also saw that Quinn chick from ‘Glee’ rocking the old black and white heart sweater that I nearly scored off eBay for £5. Man, if I could wear FC and sing mashed up musicals all day I’d be pretty happy, but you can’t win them all.
If I had to choose one of the new pieces it’d be the Promenade Dress. I see it with boots and bare legs, I see it with flip flops, I see it with dunks, I see it with my eyes closed and it’s hanging on my rail. Hmmm.

The good thing about French Connection is that the designs are coherent and there’s a definite progression through seasons using similar styles. It’s about design – not covering all the bases à la Topshop (I can say that, I’m a Topshop whore). Hats off to the weighty fabric, flashes of colour, shaped cuffs, shoulders and necklines of the future, or rather, the present.
