Ring a ding amazingness

I have disgusting little fingers so I never wear rings but I could make an exception for any of these. I love old gold boutique. The bow and the owl are from the lovely Fred Flare.

Everyone in the blogosphere has blogged on their blog about the wonder that is Jenny Gordy. Her blog is lovely, her necklaces are amazing, and one day I will buy something she knits. One day.

So, I’m going to try and stay up until 1am on Monday eve in the hope that I can get my hands on one of her wool necklaces. Oh please, let me keep my eyes open long enough.

Hi there, Surface To Air, I like you. Shall we get dressed together sometime soon?

Eley and Sonia

Weirdly, I really love the Eley Kishimoto take on Converse. This is only weird because I have an irrational hatred and distrust of Converse. I love pretty much all of the Flash range. EK always gives good knitwear and reminds me of Sonia Rykiel. Speaking of Sonia, how amazing is the new bee jumper? I’m hoping I can get myself some stripes at Sonia Rykiel for H&M when it drops on February 20th, but I’m not holding my breath.

Stripes + skull = love

This skull jumper from Sibling is incredible.

I need to renew my subscriptions to Cabinet Magazine and Zoetrope All-Story. I can feel all the good words slipping away from me.

I heart French Connection

Posted in the things we wear, wishlist on February 8th, 2010 by weequizzie – Be the first to comment

French Connection has got a new look on it’s website and I think I like it. I just wish I liked the sale prices more.

FC has been doing well since it ditched the FCUK (AKA I’m a spide/chav fashion-sense-less white sock wearer with an aptitude for drinking WKD and Bacardi Breezers) branding. 75% of the dresses are close to amazing (short, but amazing), with simple detailing and lovely shapes. My favourite miss on the sale was the Elk dress which is essentially the Ann done in houndstooth and what’s not to like about dogs and teeth. I also saw that Quinn chick from ‘Glee’ rocking the old black and white heart sweater that I nearly scored off eBay for £5. Man, if I could wear FC and sing mashed up musicals all day I’d be pretty happy, but you can’t win them all.

If I had to choose one of the new pieces it’d be the Promenade Dress. I see it with boots and bare legs, I see it with flip flops, I see it with dunks, I see it with my eyes closed and it’s hanging on my rail. Hmmm.

The good thing about French Connection is that the designs are coherent and there’s a definite progression through seasons using similar styles. It’s about design – not covering all the bases à la Topshop (I can say that, I’m a Topshop whore). Hats off to the weighty fabric, flashes of colour, shaped cuffs, shoulders and necklines of the future, or rather, the present.

Dem bones, dem bones

I’ve said it before, but this has got to be one of the best things ever made by anyone anywhere.

I want Ashish to ditch the spikes at Topshop and get back to pom poms and skeletons.

Rachel Proud is the lucky lady rocking the bones.

We found it. Well, my mum found it. My favourite perfume ever was discontinued by the Japanese cosmetics brand Shiseido. Turns out old Serge worked for them, then left and took his smells with him. So freaking happy about this. Féminité Du Bois will be mine.
