The doodle-maker of dreams is about to land. Yes! Thanks to Andy for sending me this and Studio Neat for wanting the same things I want. Now I can look forward to actually writing on my iPad, as well as doodling ghosts and triangles. Wah ha ha!

And look and the placeholder they designed. Clever, innit?

What’s going on?

‘sup?

What’s going on with you? This week I lost 4lbs, dreamt of people I used to know, made cookies that were basically 100% butter, ate tofu and read about the creation of false selves. Hardcore.

It’s a late and tiny …going on? but it’s been a bit busy and I’ve been a bit moany so brevity is probably best.

WISHLIST
It’s Christmas! Nearly. So, here’s a ridiculous wishlist of things that I don’t need:
I’m not usually a fan of her clothes and accessories but this Orla Kiely bag makes me want to run around in circles, jump up and down and drink lemonade. It’s fun.

Paper & Chain make simple jewellery and I love them for it. This chevron necklace is perfect.

We all need boots. Every year a new pair. Like everyone else I’ve been eyeing up these from Topshop but I’m also liking the look of the Fran boots over at Oasis.

I hate jumpsuits but I love pineapples so this offering from Whistles confuses me to my very core. Do I like it? Do I not like it? I think I like it but I’d like a dress better.

THINGS
David Foster Wallace’s The Pale King drafts.
I’m going to be baking bacon brownies this weekend thanks to Andrea. Bacon x chocolate = win?

Right, so that’s what’s going on. Next week we should have our tree all decked out in ridiculous decorations and I’ll have a bad case of mulled wine mouth.

Merry Christmas! Season’s Greetings! Ho ho ho!

Food

Glorious food.

Since the arrival of our weekly veg box we’ve decided to eat less meat and it’s been easy. It’s all about the vegetables – romanesco cauliflower, jerusalem artichokes, sweet potatoes, leeks, mushrooms, swede, squash – a never-ending parade of good stuff to eat and create new recipes. I even bought some tofu which I marinated and chucked on top of a stir-fry last night, it was delicious. This is not to say we’re not going to eat meat because we are, but the meat we do eat will come from a good place and taste as good as it possibly can.

One of my favourite, and easiest recipes, is pasta with cavolo nero (kale or cabbage will do).

First up, get your pasta cooking (spaghetti is good), fry off some chopped garlic in oil, add some chopped anchovies (as many as you like, 2/3 per person is good) and dried chilli flakes and cook for a few mins then set aside until the pasta is nearly done. In the meantime blanch your sliced up greens (a min in some salted boiled water), drain and run under the cold tap and set aside to drain until your ready for it. A few mins before the pasta is ready, re-heat up your pan with the garlic and anchovies, add the greens, season with lots of black pepper and squeeze on the juice of half a lemon. Drain your pasta (keep a little of the water), add to the pan with the garlic, mix around, add some water to loosen, grate on as much parmesan, or pecorino as you fancy and eat. Delicious, cheap and easy. Sometimes I add a few capers to the anchovies. Mmmmm.

I wish I was wearing

Prada Resort 2012 lips. Yep, that’s right, lips.

Michelle Williams rocked this on the cover of Elle and I thought, “Damn her pretty little head. I love her. I love that dress.”

Can someone make a decent knock-off of this, please? The operative word being decent. Oh, and the sleeves are important so don’t hack them off and don’t change the neckline, this isn’t slutsville you know.

Ok, I’m done. Look at it.
